At Church

A Sunday Morning Service

Through the eyes of a faithful member

Have you never been to a baptist church? Truth Baptist Church (EBVQ) welcomes people of all ages, colours, nationalities and social statuses.  So every Sunday morning, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, babies, children, teenagers, young adults, parents, grandparents, etc., gather at Truth Baptist Church to learn from the Bible (1), also known as the Word of God, to increase their faith in Jesus Christ, as well as to pray, and to praise and worship God.

If you arrive around 9:45 am, you will be able to have a cup of coffee and chat with friends, fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ, or simply meet some new people.

>> 10:00 a.m. - Some hymns (French and English) are sung accompanied by the piano, followed by Sunday school. What is that?  Sound foreign? Sunday school is a time of Bible study during which the pastor explains one or several passages of the Word. During this study, we can ask questions. The little ones will have gone to their own classroom for Bible lessons at their level with fun activities to support the learning process.

>> 10:50 a.m. - Break time!  It is time to stretch our legs and interact with each other. We share our news, we encourage each other, we get to know the newcomers, and we take time to fellowship! Another coffee? The machine is there for that.

>> 11:00 a.m. - The preaching service.  We start with a hymn or two, share some announcements, and then it is time for the preaching on a specific subject (the feasts of the Bible, the theory of evolution: what does the Bible say about a specific topic, did the flood really take place, the Lord's work in us, etc.). Questions that may arise during the preaching are always welcome, but the Pastor asks you to keep them in mind until the end of the service.

Young and old alike, come to worship at Truth Baptist Church. You will be welcomed with respect, and without judgment. Do you like to talk? You will find attentive ears.  Are you more introverted?  We will understand and respect that.

Will you be with us this Sunday? We'd love to meet you!  10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Sunday School) or 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Preaching Service); what if it was the biggest decision of your life?

God bless you.

(1) You may think that the Bible is just a book, perhaps poetic, perhaps imaginary, perhaps only historical. And if you had a "mathematical" demonstration of its truthfulness, of its power, what would you do? Pastor Hines would be very happy to prove to you with indisputable arguments that the Bible is the Word of God; ask him for proof, and he’ll be happy to talk with you.
